Mulberries are an anti-aging superfood. This dark little berry is high in protein, fiber, antioxidants, nutrients like iron, calcium, Vitamin A, C, E and K, Folate, thiamine, lutein, Pyridoxine, Niacin, and Resveratrol.
Resveratrol is an anti-aging antioxidant. Harvard Medical School's David Sinclair states that, “Resveratrol appears to help increase the activity of mitochondria, which produces energy within cells, potentially extending their lives.” Mulberries are also delicious and versatile. This sweet mellow berry is flavored with hints of citrus and fig. When ripe, they easily fall from the branch so harvesting is as easy as laying down a tarp, shaking the branch, and collecting the booty. They're a nice treat raw or cooked and work in anything from salads & smoothies to BBQ sauce & homemade wine. The Institute for Traditional Medicine prescribes the anti-inflammatory mulberry (fruit or tea) to cleanse and detox the blood, heart, and kidneys. It improves circulation, relieves clots, anemia, weakness, fatigue, and premature graying of hair. This fountain of youth berry promotes heart health and overall vitality. It's delicious medicine!
