Dancing is an energetic tool of manifestation. It’s a universal language that communicates information through the heart center, conveying pure emotion and energy. Essential oils amplify the power of dance, empowering the deliberate communion between the dancer and the divine. Dance expresses awareness in a way that nothing else can. There are iconic dances, like the Happy Dance, the Euphoric Trance Dance, even the Pee-pee Dance, which cross all cultures and ages. Through movement, the dancer’s body, mind and spirit harmonize to the flow of life. The rhythms are similar in the music, the heartbeat, the seasons and cycles… Dance is an essential spiritual component of many cultures such as Greek, Indian, African, European, Pacific Island, etc. Think of tribal prayer ceremonies, which involve music and dance. In the Pueblo religion, dance ceremonies “engage with the spiritual and metaphysical aspects of life.” Dance is an essential and organic part of life, a care-taking act for both the individual and the community. Many dance ceremonies include smudging or burning incense to cleanse, focus, and heal. Likewise, diffused oils also cleanse, focus, and heal. Aromatically, essential oils quickly stimulate and oxygenate the limbic system to increase psychic power. It’s powerful to do both, smudging and diffusing, with sacred dancing. Smudging brings in the fire and earth elements, diffusing brings in the water and air elements. Use the oil you feel drawn to, since dancing and smell are both so personal. I like to choose oils that support the work I'm doing. For example: So, turn on the diffuser, turn up the music, turn down the lights, and rock that body.
